Edison Mugalu is an artist of immense ability. As a painter, he has mastered the wet media and can use acrylic paint so organically thus making it as atmospheric as oil paint. He works with quick but well controlled blobs of paint. His brilliant palette and impasto canvases have influences many a Kampala artist.
Mugalu will introduce for the first time ever his new painting subject exploring dances from Uganda like never before. On show will be 25 magnificent paintings which will include the ‘imbalu’ from Mbale, ‘kitagururo’ from Western Uganda, ‘raka raka’ from Acholi and ofcourse Central Buganda dances.
