Last Friday, at Sky Lounge in Kisementi, a new and exciting international premium beer brand was launched by the Heineken Company! After a successful social media campaign called #AtDuskWeRise, which was able to capture the attention of young energetic party goers (over 18 of course); the world’s first tequila flavoured beer was officially launched in Uganda. Desperados is currently available in 11 African countries including Senegal, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Gabon and Djibouti. In addition to Uganda, it is also being launched in Kenya and Tanzania.
Desperados is flavoured using authentic Tequila from Mexico. It’s alcohol content is 5.9%.
Desperados recommended retail price is 5,000 Ugx. It will be sold in its iconic 330ml long neck, thick glass,highly engraved transparent bottle. In the bars and clubs, prices depend on the outlet. Desperados can be purchased in selected bars and nightclubs in Kampala, and major Retail Stores around the city. Initially it will be available in singles and cases of 24 bottles, but once demand for multi-packs increases Heineken promises tol consider making these available.
