Reach A Hand, Uganda is joining forces with the corporate community, local and international organization to raise awareness on the issues of teenage pregnancy. Hosting the Airtel Inspiring Women Concert during the Women’s Day celebration, to create a fun and yet an informative environment to highlight the fact that Teenage Pregnancy is not a girls issue alone but one that should concern the men and boys too.
The Airtel Inspiring Women Concert will be headlined by Tiwa Savage our new Cultural Icon featuring top Ugandan female musicians. It will be hosted at Kati Kati, Lugogo Bypass, Kampala, on Sunday, March 8 at 2:00pm – 9:00pm with the aim of reaching out to the youth about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in regards to Teenage Pregnancy.
Given this background, RAHU is using the Hashtag #LetGirlsLead which is a one week online campaign tailored to create awareness on Teenage Pregnancy. The online campaign starts on Monday 2nd March 2015, leading to a tweet up session at the RAHU office on Monday 9th March where we shall host Tiwa Savage RAHU Cultural Icon with staff, peer educators, online influencers, There shall be a live tweeting during the Visit to Mariam High School and The Womens Day Concert.
There will be live tweeting and a podcast will be uploaded on Youtube. All our social media platforms including Facebook pages (SautiPlus and Reach a Hand Uganda) and Twitter @REACHAHAND will keep followers engaged till end of March. Our peer educators, who are sold out for the cause will be blogging as well. There shall be tickets to be won for the Airtel Inspiring Women Concert.
