Proggie SoundBeat: August 2014 Week 1This week, we share two good sounds all in the sphere of ragga, reggae! Bebe Cool’s new track surely sets him apart as King of the Jungle with the nicely done video; and A-Pass, Don MC and Cindy’s upbeat I’m loving surely get your dancing shoes on.
Love You Everyday
Bebe Cool has always talked about Ugandan music needing it’s distinct sound. I for one am glad he has not copied other artists who embrace Naija sound. However some say his music has been lacking international appeal for sounding too much like kidandali. In this new song, Bebe goes beyond all the stereotypes and releases a great reggae tune which will be enjoyed from the kidandali to MTV. The video goes one better. Watching it just lets you know one thing – quality. Enjoy it. Listen to it in the playlist at the end of the article.
First time listening to A-Pass and I must say I thought he sounded like another Jamaican artist until I heard the Luganda in his lines. His voice gives this track it’s soul, listening to him is not laboured. The collaboration with Cindy – the Dancehall Patra of Uganda and Don MC enriches it. The song is surely a club banger plus the video is not a disappointment! Check it out. Listen to it in the playlist at the end of the article.
