The R.A.I.S.E Program is a revolutionary education system that has been running in secondary schools for the past three years. The program aims at tackling one of the biggest challenges facing our youth and that is the issue of youth unemployment. This is done by offering a well-rounded education curriculum through its 360 modular form of learning. The 360 model works by engaging in the three key areas of learning. These areas are sequential in nature and are step by step to ensure the development of a well-rounded student
The areas involve;
First taking the students through a soul-searching exercise in Personal Development and Financial Planning. In this exercise they are walked through a process of self-discovery that assists them in developing their own mission statements. Second, our students are taken through Entrepreneurship and Career Guidance, where personalized mentorship and guidance provides a roadmap of how to achieve their goals. Lastly, the program inspires and motivates the students to stick to their goal in life.
In light of this, one of the tutorials that the R.A.I.S.E Program conducts is “Preparing for the Age of Technology” and we have engaged with one of the
leading technological schools in Uganda; Greenbridge School of Open Technologies to do this. Over the past six months they taught the students essential IT skills and showed the results of the internet boom across the globe. This was done in an easy practical format that ensured students understood and grasped this very important skill for the 21st century.
As a way to ensure that these students don’t forget what they were taught Boston Enterprises asked them to come up with their own mobile app and show case there progress to us.
This is culminating in a mobile app competition that is taking place this Friday at Greenbridge School of Open Technologies, where the winning school gets the opportunity to actually build this app with Greenbridge.
Schools that are expected to participate in this competition are:
Mount St. Mary’s Namagunga
St. Mary’s College Kisubi
Seroma Christian School
Aga Khan International School
Trinity College Nabbingo
Nabisunsa Girls School
This is an opportunity for everyone to raise our student’s to be the best they can be an opportunity for students’ to see that when they work for it success comes to them.
